Kaolinite coagulated below pH 6 and dispersed well above that for both Na- and 1995-11-01 above the critical coagulation concentration (CCC) has been analysed. The processes involved when bentonite swells until it becomes a non-swelling gel, which it will when the groundwater is above the CCC, have been analysed. A modified calculation method was proposed to calculate CCC. Comparing the modified calculation method of CCC with the traditional calculation method, the critical condition of modified calculation method is stricter than traditional calculation method. The key results of this study show that critical coagulation concentration of silicon nanoparticles in NaCl is 0.2 M while critical coagulation concentration decreased to 0.01 for CaCl 2 solution. This finding indicates that silicon nanoparticles are less stable in CaCl 2 because of the more effective surface charge screening process occurred.

The aggregation kinetics was determined from the decrease in particle concentration with time at different electrolyte concentrations. The DLVO theory defines the critical coagulation concentration (CCC) value as the electrolyte concentration that balances the attractive and repulsive potential energies between the particles, making aggregation diffusion-controlled.
Dept. of Chemical Engineering, National Taiwan Herein, we present a critical coagulation concentration (CCC)–based salt titration as a means to enable an accurate quantification in the liquid phase without any analytical equipment. According to the DLVO (Derjaguin and Landau, Verwey and Overbeek) theory of colloid stability, stability of colloid The critical coagulation concentration (c.c.c.) increases remarkably with the increase of the surface charge density of the latex dispersions.
Oct 7, 2016 There are many factors that govern the critical coagulation concentration (CCC) towards electrolyte concentration: 1) Particle shape 2) Surface
